Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime is a hugely funny period comedy set in the late 1800s. Based on a short story by Oscar Wilde, Constance Cox has interwoven several typically Wilde-like characters (the pleasant but somewhat dimwitted Lord Arthur, the great aunt who obviously bears some resemblance to the infamous Lady Bracknell and the faithful butler who strives to do the best for his master) with some unlikely others – Herr Winklekopf, the eccentric and ineffective German explosives expert and Podgers, the dubious clairvoyant, for example.
Sue Alexander, who was the Musical Director for The Great Cheriton Variety Show, directed this costume comedy which ran from 18th-21st November 2015.
